Honor in Healing. Courage in Change.
SOBER VETS
We empower veterans rebuilding from addiction, trauma, and transitional instability with peer mentorship, career training, mental wellness services, legal and reintegration support, and access to certifications and internships.
Veteran-Led. Purpose-Driven. Community-Focused.
Sober Vets fills a critical gap in veteran and first responder care by integrating recovery support with cultural competency.
While national organizations provide excellent services in PTSD treatment, peer support, or wellness, no other organization delivers a comprehensive, no-cost, low-barrier program that combines addiction recovery, mental health support, peer-to-peer mentorship, holistic wellness, and career reintegration — all rooted in the shared culture and language of military and first responder service.
Every initiative is proof-driven—informed by peer-reviewed research and tracked through partnerships with academic and healthcare institutions. We deliver compassion backed by accountability.
We serve veterans and families impacted by substance use, incarceration, TBI, PTSD, MST, or housing instability—and connect them to employers seeking resilient, mission-aligned talent.
We restore the leadership, resilience, and purpose our veterans carried in service — and help them put it back to work in their lives and communities.

Comprehensive Support
Sober Vets offers peer-to-peer coaching, wellness retreats, educational workshops designed for veterans in recovery, and much more. We are not just a program—we’re a unified network of guidance, opportunity, and care. We connect mentoring, career development, counseling, and barrier removal into one seamless path to restored purpose, confidence, and momentum.
Peer Mentoring
Our harm-reduction, evidence-based peer mentoring program is the beating heart of Sober Vets. We match veterans with mentors who have walked the same road—people who understand the culture, the challenges, and the unique pressures of military life and its aftermath. Mentoring takes place both one-on-one and in small group settings, fostering a safe environment for honest conversations about recovery, transition, and personal goals. Whether it’s navigating the VA, exploring education options, or simply having someone to call on a hard day, our mentors are committed to walking alongside veterans for as long as it takes.

Workforce Development
We believe employment is more than a paycheck—it’s a foundation for rebuilding confidence and independence. Our workforce development services prepare veterans for lasting careers through personalized career mapping, resume optimization, and intensive interview preparation. We open doors to apprenticeships, trade certifications, and sector-specific training, connecting veterans directly with vetted, veteran-friendly employers. For those looking to advance academically, we provide pathways to higher education, scholarship guidance, and partnerships with institutions committed to veteran success. Every step is designed to ensure veterans leave our program ready for both the demands and rewards of civilian work life.
Mental Health Support
Strong mental health is essential for sustainable recovery and reintegration. That’s why our wellness approach is holistic, addressing both emotional well-being and physical vitality. We provide access to trauma-informed counseling, as well as weekly wellness activities like yoga, guided meditation, art therapy workshops, and gym buddy programs that promote accountability and connection. For those who thrive in movement and teamwork, we host run/walk groups and organize opportunities to work with animals—whether in rescue shelters or equine bonding programs. These experiences don’t just reduce stress—they help veterans rediscover joy, connection, and a renewed sense of self.

Career Training
Our career training programs are designed to equip veterans with practical, in-demand skills that lead directly to employment. We offer hands-on instruction in multiple sectors—from culinary arts and skilled trades to technology, logistics, and beyond—ensuring each veteran has a pathway that matches their interests and strengths. Training is paired with access to industry-recognized certifications, internships, and on-the-job learning opportunities that bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application. By working closely with employers and training partners, we make sure the skills our veterans gain are current, marketable, and aligned with industry needs. Every veteran leaves with more than just a certificate—they leave with the confidence, experience, and professional network needed to build a sustainable career.
Barrier Reduction
Reintegration often begins with removing the obstacles that keep veterans from moving forward. We offer practical, stigma-free support to address these challenges head-on. This includes fatherhood support groups, parenting rights education, and reunification guidance for those working to rebuild family relationships. We connect veterans with trusted legal resources to navigate employment rights, housing issues, and benefits access. We also provide tattoo removal referrals for those looking to eliminate physical barriers to employment or personal reinvention. Every service in this category is designed to restore confidence and clear the way for new opportunities.

Why Choose Us
At Sober Vets, our strength lies in turning obstacles into pathways. We blend professional expertise with practical, real-world insight to create solutions that actually work in the situations veterans face every day. We don’t offer one-size-fits-all answers—our support is adaptable, informed by data, and rooted in the belief that every veteran’s journey is unique.
We work side by side with veterans, families, and employers to ensure progress isn’t just temporary—it’s sustainable. By connecting resources, building skills, and fostering community, we help veterans not only re-enter civilian life but thrive in it.

Veteran-Led
We are led by veterans who have walked the same road—through service, transition, trauma, and rebuilding. Our leadership understands the unspoken challenges of military life because we’ve lived them. That lived experience gives us a unique ability to connect with authenticity, guide with credibility, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those we serve.

Holistic Support
We believe in treating the whole person, not just addressing one issue at a time. Our programs integrate mental health support, recovery counseling, job readiness, and hands-on career training, with access to certifications and real-world opportunities. By addressing the interconnected challenges veterans face, we help them reclaim control over their minds, lives, and futures.

Outcome-Focused
We don’t just provide services—we track results. Our model is grounded in measurable outcomes, from wellness progress to employment success. We continually monitor and refine our programs to ensure they remain effective, impactful, and aligned with the evolving needs of the veterans we serve.

Empowerment, Not Dependency
Our mission is to help veterans regain their footing and thrive independently. We provide the resources, skills, and mentorship needed to build self-reliance, leadership, and problem-solving ability. We reject the narrative of veterans as victims—our approach empowers them to define their own success and lead with confidence.

Community-Focused
We understand that recovery and growth don’t happen in isolation. That’s why we work to build a strong, supportive network of veterans, employers, and community partners. Through collaboration, we create opportunities for connection, mutual support, and shared purpose—strengthening not just individual veterans, but families, communities, and the nation as a whole.
